DIVE SITE

SIPADAN . MABUL . KAPALAI

Sipadan Water Village offers a unique array of diving. This is one of the few destinations in the world where you can see everything from pygmy seahorses to massive schools of fish – all within the distance of a 20-minute boat ride. Normally, you will either get big stuff or little stuff but Sipadan Water Village has it all. There are three general areas that you will dive into. Of course, there are always exceptions, but you can count on diving into these three areas – Mabul, Kapalai, and the famed Sipadan.

Due to the fact that the marine life found around Mabul Island varies greatly from that of Sipadan Island, the combination of the two islands for diving makes a diver's diving holiday more complete. Mabul and Kapalai are heaven for studying the macro aspects of marine life and guarantee hours of fascinating fish watching with ample opportunities for photography.  At world-renowned Sipadan Island, divers get a different experience as one dive amongst turtles, sharks, schooling bumphead parrotfish, and huge schools of jacks and barracuda. Sipadan Island is only 20 minutes away from the comforts of the Sipadan Water Village.

SIPADAN

Sipadan Island boasts 13 captivating dive sites, just a short 20-minute boat ride from Mabul on calm days. These dives offer a thrilling combination of wall and drift diving, revealing a stunning underwater world adorned with hard corals, soft corals, gorgonians, and sponges. Remarkably, you can encounter more turtles in a single dive here than in a lifetime of diving elsewhere. Additionally, divers have the opportunity to witness impressive schools of barracudas and jacks gracefully circling the reef in shallow waters of South Point. The island itself is a paradise, featuring mesmerizing crystal blue waters and pristine white sandy beaches. Sipadan Island undeniably secures its place among the top 10 diving destinations worldwide, leaving visitors breathless with its awe-inspiring dive sites.

MABUL

MABUL ISLAND DIVING

Mabul offers 17 dive sites, easily reached by boat from the resort. The diving is mostly shallow, ranging from 10 to 60 feet deep. It's a macro heaven with diverse marine life including squid, cuttlefish, gobies, and more. The walls around Mabul reach about 100 feet and are home to lobster, eels, and frogfish. The house reefs, Paradise I and II, showcase mandarin fish, rays, turtles, and coral. Night dives are available, and a Divemaster can help spot critters like mandarin fish.

KAPALAI

KAPALAI ISLAND DIVING

Kapalai has about 13 dive sites. Kapalai lies to the east of Mabul less than 10 minutes away.  It used to be an island much like Mabul but erosion has turned it into a small sandbar that just breaks the surface of the water. Like Mabul, it is an excellent location for macro photography and is especially abundant in the rare finds of diving such as stonefish, leaffish, pipefish, lionfish, frogfish, blue ring octopus, cuttlefish, eels, and more. Most of the dive sites will be patch coral, sand, eel grass, or artificial reef.
